Trinitarian Congregational Church, an ecumenical community of faith in the tradition of the United Christ and an Open and Affirming Congregation, 54 Walden Street, Concord Center, invites the public to celebrate a Concord Christmas.  

Christmas Eve services begin at 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24, with a Christmas tableau featuring children in grades 3 and 4; preceded by a 3:45 carol sing, this service is especially designed for young children. A Living Creche enacted by young people in grades 5-8 is at 6 p.m.; preceded by a congregational carol sing at 5:45, this service is geared for families with school-age children.  

At 8 p.m., a traditional service of carols and readings will be celebrated; a special prelude featuring music by the senior choir beginning at 7:40 p.m. sets the tone for a meditative evening in a candle-lit setting.  All three services feature the lighting of the Christ candle.  

At 11:00 p.m., the larger community gathers for a service of Word and Sacrament; complemented by a brass group and involving college age young people home for the holidays in leadership, the evening features a homily entitled "Heavenly Announcements and Holy Moments" by the Rev. Dr. John Lombard, Senior Minister, the celebration of Holy Communion, and the lighting of individual candles around midnight.  This service will be preceded by an open house for the church's college age young people. 

The 10 a.m. service, the first Sunday after Christmas, will feature a special carol sing and a time of reflecting upon the season.  Concluding the holiday season will be a very special, multi-generational Epiphany Festival at 10 a.m. on Jan. 2; focusing on the theme of the journey of the magi and the manifestation of Christ as "the light of the world," the service will feature a unique liturgy including "Faces at the Manger," celebration of the Eucharist, the enactment of the journey by the Three Kings, and the celebration of "light to a darkened world; concluding the service will be sharing of the Three Kings' cake and activities for all ages.
