Waltham – State Senate Candidate Sandi Martinez applauds Mayor McCarthy’s effort to advocate for more organ donors.

Mayor Jeanette McCarthy issued a proclamation on Thursday April 19, declaring April as “Donate Life Month” in Waltham. This is in an effort to encourage citizens to donate organs. McCarthy said Waltham is proud to support this effort in making people more aware of how important organ donations are. People’s lives can be saved if we as citizens are just more aware.

“The issue of organ donation is very important to me” said Martinez, “one of my dearest friends remains in my life today by the generous gift of life from a very generous anonymous donor.”

Sandi Martinez a candidate for State Senate, as well as the Republican State Committeewoman for Massachusetts Third Middlesex Senatorial District.  The Third Middlesex district is comprised of the nine communities of Waltham, Chelmsford, Concord, Bedford, Sudbury (precincts 1, 4 and 5), Weston, Carlisle, Lincoln, and Lexington (precincts 3, 8, and 9).
