5 Things to Do This Weekend: Jan. 20-22

It's Thursday, so as usual, here are five suggestions for great weekend activities in and around Concord.

1. The Biscuit Rollers Roll on Main Street 

When/Where: Saturday, Jan. 21, Main Streets Market and Cafe, 8:30 p.m.
Why Go: It may be cold outside, but the music and dancing will be hot!
Pricing: Free

2. Shen Yun

When/Where: Jan. 20,21,22, Boston Opera House.
Why Go: If you feel like leaving Concord, why not travel to a distant land? Explore the richness and mystery of Chinese culture, and learn about Shen Yun’s dance, music, production, props, costumes, dynasties and heroes.
Pricing: $50-$150

3. Messy Masterpiece: Paint Like Van Gogh

When/Where: Saturday, Jan. 21, Discovery Museum in Acton, 10 a.m.
Why Go: Bring the kids to learn about the eccentric painter, and try their own hand at creating a messy masterpiece.
Pricing: $10.50 for adults and children, $9.50 for seniors

4. Honk! Jr.

When/Where: Jan. 20, 21, and 22, 55 Hartley Road, Stow.
Why Go: Theatre With a Twist presents "Honk! Jr.," based on Hans Christian Andersen's "The Ugly Duckling."
Pricing: $10

5. Collecting Transcendentalism: A Curator's Perspective

When/Where: Saturday, Jan. 21, Concord Free Public Library, 5 p.m.
Why Go: Curator of Modern Books & Manuscripts at Houghton Library, Harvard University, Leslie Morris will speak on "Collecting Transcendentalism," an exhibit on display at the library.
Pricing: Free
