5. Although all sins were forgiven in October 2004, today marks the 25th anniversary of one of the biggest blunders in the book of Boston baseball, when first baseman Bill Buckner let a routine grounder dribble through his legs allowing the Mets to score in the tenth inning, winning Game 6 of the 1986 World Series, forcing a Game 7. The Red Sox would go on to lose Game 7, perpetuating the Curse of the Bambino.
