From 3 to 4:30 p.m. this Sunday, Sept. 16, Concord Family Network will hold its eighth annual Fire Truck Wash at the Thoreau Club's parking lot, at 275 Forest Ridge Road. 

"Grab a bucket and sponge! Put on your rubber boots!" an event press release implores. "Help wash a fire truck, meet a firefighter and learn about his gear, the truck he drives and fire safety."

The event is free, and open to all Concord residents with children ages 0 to 8 years. Refreshments are provided. The rain date is Sept. 23, same time and place -- see the CFN website (concordfamilynetwork.org) for cancellation information.
