Concord Moms Topic: The Royal Wedding

Would you allow your kids to miss school for an event like "The Royal Wedding?"

Moms Talk is a new feature on Concord Patch that is part of a new initiative on our Patch sites to reach out to moms and families.

Concord Patch invites you and your circle of friends to help build a community of support for mothers and their families right here in town.

Moms, dads, grandparents and the diverse families who make up our community will have a new resource for questions about local neighborhood schools, the best pediatricians, youth sports and the thousands of other issues that arise while raising children.

Each week, we ask parents in the community to answer a question related to raising kids in Concord. This week, we pose a question that’s slightly different.

With all of the buzz surrounding the marriage of Prince William and Catherine Middleton, we pose the following:

Will you watch “The Royal Wedding?” More importantly, would you or have you ever allowed your children to miss school for such an event?

Sound off in the comment section below and let us know what you think of the hoopla.

About this column: This weekly column poses a question for the readers to weigh in on. Please feel free to add your two-cents and send in questions of your own. We will try to get answers from each other. Related Topics: Catherine Middleton, Prince William, and The Royal Wedding

Absolutely! My children will be starting school an hour late ... but then again, my husband and I are British and we feel this is very much part of our culture. The wedding and ceremonial displays will mostly be over by 9am with the wave from the balcony at Buckingham Palace and the RAF fly-past. Not too much school missed!
