Our report on home sale numbers got susanreede thinking about those who should try to refinance right now. “Thanks to the shaky economy, 30-year fixed loans were recently at a record low of 4.31%,” she wrote.

Janet Hurley had some advice regarding a recent Cooking with Sheila column on leftovers. Hurley suggested a “fridge night” where anything eaten for dinner that evening must include leftover ingredients. “The kids seem to enjoy this and ask for it,” she wrote. “They come up with some interesting combinations also.”
