Five Things: A Presentation on the Importance Free Play for Children

A quick look at what you need to see, do and know on March 20 in Concord.

 

1. Why Free Play Is Crucial for Children and How You Can Make it Happen: At 7 p.m. tonight, Concord Children's Center is hosting a free talk for parents of children ages 3 to 12 years in which author-educators Peter Gray and Mike Lanza will explain why children need free play and how to make it happen. 2. Today in Public Meetings: According to the town website, public meetings posted for today include the White Pond Advisory Committee at 9 a.m., the CCHS Site-Based Subcommittee at 2:30 p.m., the CCHS Building Committee at 6 p.m., the Public Ceremonies & Celebrations at 6 p.m. and the Natural Resources Commission at 7 p.m.

3. Spring Equinox Fun: At 10:30 a.m. this morning, Barefoot Books will host a celebration of the vernal equinox event featuring springtime tales and fun crafts.

5. Windy, But Warmer: Should be mostly sunny today, with a chance of flurries early, a high temp in the low-40s and wind gusts of up to 36 mph, according to the National Weather Service, which predicts a mostly cloudy evening with a low of 22.
