Five Things: Book Discussion, Minuteman Technical Institute Open House

1. 'You Know When the Men are Gone': From 9:30 to 11:15 a.m., the Military Family Support Group and the Concord Monthly Book Group will hold a book discussion at the Concord Free Public Library on the book, You Know When the Men Are Gone, by Siobhan Fallon. 2. Today in Public Meetings: According to the town website, public meetings posted for today include the Hugh Cargill Trust at 8:30 a.m., the Council on Aging at 5:30 p.m., the Concord Public School Committee at 6:30 p.m., the Planning Board at 7 p.m., the Library Committee at 7 p.m. and the Board of Selectmen, who'll attend state Rep. Cory Atkins' public forum for citizens on the governor's budget proposal at 7 p.m.
3. Minuteman Technical Institute Open House: MTI, which provides students with the required qualifications to confidently seek out and successfully compete for desirable roles in diverse high-growth industries, will hold an open house at 7 p.m. tonight at Minuteman High in Lexington.
5. Looks Like Rain: Rain is in the forecast for today, with a high of 52, according to the National Weather Service, which predicts more precipitaiton overnight and a low of 38.
