Five Things: School Committee, Vatican II Revisited and More

A quick look at what you need to see, do and know on Jan. 23 in Concord.

1. School Committees Meet Tonight: After postponing yesterday's meeting, the Concord Public Schools and Concord-Carlisle Regional School committees meet tonight at CCHS. An executive session is at 6 p.m., and then open session begins at 6:30 p.m.

2. Vatican II Revisited: A Pastor's Perspective: As part of Holy Family's yearlong program, the Rev. Austin Fleming will address the impact of Vatican II from a pastor’s perspective. The presentation will be at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Monument Hall, 62 Monument Square in Concord Center; a donation of $5 – 10 is appreciated.

3. Other Public Meetings: According to the town website, the only other public meeting posted for today is the CCTV Annual Meeting at 9 p.m.

4. Like Us on Facebook: For even more information and engagement, like Concord Patch on Facebook. Over there, we'll be asking questions, looking for feedback and continuing the conversation with the Concord community. See you soon!

5. It's a Cold One: Should be mostly sunny, but cold with highs only into the teens, according to the National Weather Service, which predicts a partly cloudy evening with a low of -1.

Vatican II said this in it's Constitution Dei Verbum:
"Consequently it is not from Sacred Scripture alone that the Church draws her certainty about everything which has been revealed. Therefore both sacred tradition and Sacred Scripture are to be accepted and venerated with the same sense of loyalty and reverence."

Vatican II showed that traditions should be kept with loyalty.
