Five Things You Need to Know: July 12

A girl's writing workshop at Barefoot, Live Music/Ladies Night at Peyton's in Maynard, more Dabblers Summer Workshops and a young chemists event in Acton.

 

 

Today's Weather: More sunshine today with highs of 87. Clear at night as temperatures drop to to 60 according to the National Weather Service.

1. There will be a Writing Workshop for Girls today at Barefoot Books at 1 p.m. This workshop features an author as its instructor that will focus on literature involving goddesses. Cost is $40.

2. There will be Live Music tonight at Peyton's in Maynard starting at 7 p.m. Don't forget, every Thursday Night at Peyton's is Ladies Night.

3. Dabblers Summer Workshops continue. According to their website there will be Watercolor Painting from 4 - 6 p.m. and Needlepoint and Cross-Stitching from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

4. Over in Acton, head down to the Discovery Museum today at 2 p.m. for Reaction Station: Adventures for Young Chemists on 177 Main St.

5. Today in History: It was today in 1862 that Congress authorized the distinguished military accolade, the Medal of Honor.
