Five Things You Need to Know: July 23

Some chance of heavy rain this Monday with a free SAT practice test, Dabblers summer workshops change pace, Barefoot Books is beginning a creative writing workshop for kids and Al-Anon/Alateen in the afternoon.

 

 

Today's Weather: There's a 20% chance of heavy rain for Monday with highs of 90. Chance of heavy rain doubles at night as temperatures drop to 69 according to the National Weather Service.

1. There will be a Free SAT Practice Test going on this morning at 9:30 a.m. at CCHS. Visit www.kaplanatschool.com to register.

2. Dabblers Summer Workshops shift gear today. The focus this week will be on "Building Stuff." Today there will be Tie-Dye at 10:30 a.m., Origami at 2 p.m. and Knitting Lessons at 4 p.m.

3. At 2 p.m. at Barefoot Books there will be a Creative Writing Workshop for Kids. Call 978-369-1770 about registering for this $80 class.

4. This afternoon, there will be an Al-Anon/Alateen Meeting at the West Concord Union Church at 1 p.m.

5. Today in History: It was today in 1952 that revolution came to Eygpt. A non-violent coup removed the monarchy and for the first time since ancient Eygpt the land was again ruled by Egyptians.
