Five Things You Need to Know Today: Aug. 14

CCHS Building Committee, Concord Center a Cultural District? and more.

 

1. CCHS Building Committee: Is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. tonight at Concord-Carlisle High School and its agenda includes updates from KVA, the Office of Michael Rosenfeld and the committee chair, along with a vote to approve the design development submission for Aug. 24 and a questin and answer session.

2. Other Public Meetings: According to the town website, additional public meetings posted for today include the Hugh Cargill Trust at 9:15 a.m. and the Transportation Advisory Committee at 7:30 p.m.

3. Get Your Bridge On: The weekly games of bridge are available at 1 p.m. today at the Harvey Wheeler Community Center in West Concord.

4. Concord Center a Cultural District? This one's from Town Manager Chris Whelan's weekly report: The town received the Site Advisor Assessment report prepared by the Massachusetts Cultural Council staff after their visit to Concord on June 28. MCC staff is recommending that the council designate Concord Center as a Cultural District, which may be voted at the August MCC meeting, Whelan wrote.

5. Mostly Sunny: It should be mostly sunny today, with a high in the upper 80s, according to the National Weather Service, which predicts a mostly cloudy and humid evening with a low in the 70s.
