Good day sunshine. Just a small 10 percent chance of rain today with highs of 81 according to www.weather.com.

1. For you aspiring musicians out there, the Concord Conservatory of Music is now taking applicants for its Summer Music Courses.

2. Barefoot Books has a few events going on today, including Just Ducky Storytime Arts and Crafts at 10:30 a.m. which is free.

3. Another Barefoot books event today is Paint-Your-Own-Pottery at 11 a.m. which costs $8.

4. There will Live Music at Peyton's over in Maynard for anyone interested in kicking off their weekend early on 86 Powder Mill Road.

5. This Day in History: It was today in 1961 that South Africa officially became a nation.
