Five Things You Need to Know Today: Sep. 5

Citizens studying school transportation, locals humanists and more today in Concord.

 

1. Citizens Committee to Study School Transportation: Is meeting at 7 p.m. this evening at the Concord Free Public Library, and its agenda includes citizen comments, reports and issues for discussion, a review of questions/comments from its Aug. 16 public hearing, committee member updates and more.

2. Other Public Meetings Posted for Today: According to the town website, public meetings posted for today include the Tax Relief Committee at 8:30 a.m., the Cemetery Committee at 7 p.m., the Natural Resources Commission at 7 p.m., the Comprehensive Sustainable Energy Committee at 7:30 p.m. and the West Concord Advisory Committee, also at 7:30 p.m.

3. Concord Area Humanists Monthly Meeting: It's today, at 7:15 p.m., at First Parish in Concord.

4. Prepping for the Primary: Don't forget, the primaries are tomorrow, Sept. 6. For information about voting and polling places, head over to the town website.

5. Another Gray Day: Showers and thunderstorms are again in the forecast, as well as patchy fog and a high near 80, according to the National Weather Service, which predicts a continued chance of precipitation into the evening and an overnight low of 63.
