LETTER: Boynton, a Fresh Face for Concord School Committee

Concord Greene residents Fritz and Allene Kussin write in favor of Johanna Boynton for School Committee.

To the Editor,

We experience Johanna Boynton as a breath of fresh air.  She is a new face, yet with the knowledge and obvious commitment to doing what is best for the students in our public schools. We love the idea of a candidate who has not gone to every meeting of the School Committee for the last year and become so invested in a specific position as to have lost the ability to enter into productive discussions about alternatives.

Johanna describes herself as having the ability and experience to develop consensus on issues.  We believe her. She is a bright, articulate leader and has a deep love and respect for Concord and commitment to the work as a volunteer who will give unstintingly of her time.

Johanna’s resume is impressive.  With four children in various stages of passage through the public school system, she will certainly not lack for student input.  Her work with multiple school related committees is extensive and productive, as has been amply portrayed in many of the previous letters supporting her candidacy.

We believe that she would come to the task of being a School Committee member with enthusiasm, dedication, and an understanding that we achieve good outcomes when committees are allowed to do their work in an atmosphere of respect and productive dialogue.  Her skill in encouraging constructive interaction is a needed and valued one.

Please join us in voting for Johanna and let’s join her in working for what is best for the children of Concord.
