LETTER: In Favor of Boynton for Concord School Committee

Elm Street resident Penny Austen writes that Johanna Boynton's agenda 'is to listen, respect everyone's opinion and differing views, and then advocate for what she believes is right for our school system.'

To the Editor,

I am writing to express my support for Johanna Boynton for School Committee because I believe her experience and collaborative approach make her an outstanding candidate. Our schools impact our entire community. It is imperative that we elect candidates who respect and are committed to all constituents and their often strong and divergent views -- the taxpayers, the educators, and ultimately, the children of Concord and Carlisle.

Johanna has shown an unparalleled level of integrity in all that she has done in this community: as a teacher, college advisor, coach, volunteer (co-president of the Alcott PTG and member of the School Advisory Council), and a parent of four bright children. Throughout all these efforts, Johanna’s commitment has always been to the children and to building a quality education system.

Johanna has no agenda -- or rather, her agenda is to listen, respect everyone’s opinion and differing views, and then advocate for what she believes is right for our school system. She will promote engagement and partnership between the School Committee, parents, and community members.

I encourage you to learn more about Johanna by visiting her website at johannaboynton.com. We need a dynamic and insightful person to represent the children in our towns; and we are lucky to have someone of Johanna’s caliber willing to donate so much of her time to this position. Please join me in supporting Johanna Boynton on March 19 for election to the School Committee.
