LETTER: Rarich Recommends Bergen for Concord School Committee

College Road resident Anne Rarich writes that Lisa Bergen 'can be the active and informed member we all need.'

To the Editor,

As a past School Committee member and parent of two CCHS graduates, I am excited to support Lisa Bergen for School Committee. All of the candidates may have great credentials, but few have invested the time and effort Lisa has in assuring an open and thorough deliberation process on behalf of all Concord citizens. She served on both the Transportation Advisory Committee and was appointed by the town Moderator to the Citizens Transportation Committee, which she chaired.

Lisa has already demonstrated an understanding of the public meeting deliberation processes necessary for a thorough dialogue on complex issues. She has firsthand knowledge of these issues gained through participation, and through taking the time to research primary documents. Lisa has dealt effectively with many different constituencies in conducting both her analysis and deliberations with fellow Concordians. All of this allows her to come to the table prepared, and with the ability to see the issues clearly from all angles. I believe she also can provide a longer term, more strategic view of what is most important for maintaining a quality public education in Concord for all students.

Lisa’s background in both technology and education are a great asset to have when considering our choices for School Committee. I have sat at the SC table and have a good understanding of what it takes to be successful there. Lisa can be the active and informed member we all need. I hope you will join me on March 19 and vote for Lisa Bergen.
