Letter to the Editor

Domestic Violence Services Network expresses its appreciation for the Festival of Wreaths.

To the editor:

Domestic Violence Services Network, Inc. thanks the Rotary Club of Concord,
Middlesex Savings Bank and the participating businesses and individuals whose
collaborative efforts, creativity, and generosity raised $1,022 to support the programs DVSN provides locally to victims of domestic abuse. A special thanks to Middlesex Savings Bank for its continued support of our organization and for being involved with yet another community fundraising event by providing the venue for the Festival of Wreaths.

DVSN is additionally grateful to the Rotarians who donated the wreaths and those
who organized the event. Sincere thanks also go to the businesses and individuals who donated gift certificates for the Giving Tree and to everyone who donated their time and talent to decorate the wreaths, all fantastic!

Thank you also to the community for supporting DVSN by bidding to purchase a wreath and chances to win the Giving Tree. This event helps to raise awareness about the Domestic Violence Services Network and the message of advocacy that is our mission.

For advocates who provide ongoing support to victims, awareness means understanding the pain that family violence creates for those caught in its grip, as well as celebrating the courage it takes for individuals to rebuild their lives and regain the sense of self after enduring emotional or physical abuse from a loved one.

For many community members, awareness may mean seeing friends or family members struggle with this issue and getting information about how to help them. For young people, it may mean learning about what to expect in a healthy intimate relationship or participating in anti-bullying campaigns at school. This community, along with DVSN, is working diligently to raise awareness of and to prevent and end domestic violence.
THANK YOU.
