A new Boston-based reality show seeks to help a local start-up company overcome the challenges of business and succeed.
REEL Entrepreneurs accepted applications from March 16 through noon on Thursday, March 21 from Massachusetts start-up companies that wanted to compete for a spot on the pilot season of their new reality show “Million Dollar Startup.” The first season will consist of eight half-hour shows that will air on Sunday nights at 7 p.m. on NECN, according to the REEL Entrepreneurs website.
The show promises to combine “BIG idea entrepreneurial startups, BIG name judges, viewer interaction and the chance to win a BIG prize package,” according to the REEL Entrepreneurs website.
To qualify for the show, an applicant must be the founder of a Massachusetts-based startup that is less than three years old, has a core team of one to four people and has a total revenue of under $200,000 since inception.
The first round of judging involved a live casting interview scheduled for Saturday, March 23, in Boston.
The show is set to begin airing on May 12, the Boston Business Journal reports.
