Pedestrian Accident Hospitalizes Mom, Kids, Driver
Concord Police say a driver on her way to dialysis struck a mother and two young children at Wintrhop Street and Commonwealth Avenue in West Concord.
A mother, two young children and a woman who was on her way to dialysis are all hospitalized this morning after a pedestrian accident in West Concord.
Police are still investigating the specifics of the accident, but at the scene this morning Concord Police Sgt. Jack Kennedy said it appears an elderly woman driving a Toyota Camry down Commonwealth Avenue struck the woman and children as she attempted to turn left onto Winthrop Street.
Both of the childern were young boys, according to Kennedy. The younger appears to have been in a stroller and the older was either on or riding a small bicycle with training wheels.
All four people involved in the accident were initially transported to nearby Emerson Hospital, Kennedy said. The younger boy, police said was about 20 months old, was then life-flighted to Children's Hospital in Boston.
Shortly before 10 a.m. this morning, police said they were awaiting the Mass State Police's accident reconstruction team.
And stay tuned to Patch. Kennedy said he would release more details as they are available.
