Police Log: A Sick Fox, a High School Tagged and Another Big Cat
The following information was provided by the Concord Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Saturday, Aug. 4
12:03 a.m. – An unknown caller reported an apparently sick fox was in a parking lot on Commonwealth Avenue.
7:21 a.m. – A Partridge Lane resident walked into the station to turn in a MasterCard and health card he found at Emerson Field.
9:22 a.m. – A Lexington Road resident called in a traffic complaint about a motorist swerving around his vehicle into the opposite traffic lane at a high rate of speed as he exited his driveway.
2:20 p.m. – A Barretts Mill Road resident reported seeing a cougar on her street, near College Road, on July 21.
3:19 p.m. – An employee from Concord-Carlisle High School walked into the station to report finding graffiti vandalism on the wall near the lower gym parking lot. “Illusion Reality” was written in black paint, according to the incident report.
5:38 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a wallet stolen from the Thoreau Club on Forest Ridge Road.
8:51 p.m. – An alarm system sounded from Caterina Heights, but the property checked secure.
Sunday, Aug. 5
8:36 a.m. – A burglar alarm activation came in from the water treatment plant on Bedford Street. Cars checked the property; the problem was unknown but the building was secure.
9:47 a.m. – A 911 caller reported a white sedan cut her off as it pulled out of the Rite-Aid parking lot on Lowell Road.
12:01 p.m. – Police responded to a report of multiple trash bags causing a traffic hazard on Route 2, but were unable to find any obstruction.
2:47 p.m. – A caller with parking questions reported staffers at Walden Pond were sending people to park at Concord-Carlisle High School. An officer checked with pond employees, who claimed they do not instruct people to park at the high school.
3:05 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident and a pole down on Lowell Road. They arrived to find a one-vehicle accident.
4:52 p.m. – Multiple callers reported a power line down on Main Street, near the Fowler Branch Library in West Concord. Officers shut down the road due to the wire on the roadway.
8:06 p.m. – An officer responded to a report of a tree limb down in the roadway in the area of Virginia Road and Fuller Lane. He reported the roadway was passable, although he was unable to move the limb, so the DPW’s highway division was notified.
