Police Log: A Suspicious Eyepatch, A 911 Caller Cries 'Torture'
The following information was provided by the Concord Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Friday, Jan. 18
6:50 a.m. – Police responded to a report of an eye patch-wearing man walking down Fox Lane, toward the dead end. Police checked the area, but were unable to locate the man.
11:59 a.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 2 westbound, a Wichendon woman received a summons for number plate violation to conceal ID, uninsured motor vehicle and unregistered motor vehicle.
12:20 p.m. – A motorist reported seeking an orange pickup truck strike a car parked across from Concord Teacakes on Commonwealth Avenue. Police checked the area and could not locate the truck or the victim vehicle.
1:22 p.m. – A Concord man called to complain about a motor vehicle parked in a handicapped spot at Vincenzo’s in West Concord.
3:22 p.m. – Police responded to a reported disabled motor vehicle near the Elm Street bridge. The vehicle was off to the side of the road.
4:52 p.m. – A man walked into the lobby to report a possible case of identity fraud involving his tax return.
5:52 p.m. – A 911 caller reported a green Saab traveling on Old Road to Nine Acre Corner with multiple alleged marked lanes violations. Police stopped the vehicle, and the driver said she was having trouble with the defroster.
6:50 p.m. – A woman walked into the lobby to report a past larceny from her motor vehicle at Concord Commons. Reported stolen was a change purse and bottle of Xanax.
8:47 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a deer struck by a motor vehicle on Lexington Road near Manuel Drive. The animal was put down.
11:56 a.m. – Police received a 911 call from an allegedly intoxicated woman at the Colonial Inn, who had called “to complain about her displeasure with the conditions of the home of her business partner,” describing the lack of heat in his house “as the equivalent of torture.” Her business partner, who lives in Stoneham, told police they were in Concord on business.
