Police Log: Accidents Happen -- Several of Them
The following information was provided by the Concord Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Thursday, Jan. 24
12:35 a.m. – An officer on patrol radioed in to report checking on a man in the Valley Sports parking lot on Main Street in West Concord. It turned out, the man was an employee of the rink who was waiting for a ride.
3:29 a.m. – A 911 call from an employee of the Dunkin’ Donuts on Concord Turnpike reported there was an occupied vehicle in the lot and she did not feel safe entering the business. The responding officer reported the vehicle and its driver were delivering medication to area health care facilities and had stopped there to rest.
8:42 a.m. – A Blueberry Lane resident reported a waste management truck had struck the railroad bridge at Main and Wood streets. Police located the truck at the Depot and cited the driver for failure to obey the signs/bylaw violation.
10:36 a.m. – Multiple 911 calls came in reporting a motor vehicle accident at Elm and Wood streets. Two tows were requested and police temporarily shut down Elm Street at Main. One patient was transported to Emerson Hospital with a reported knee injury and one motorist, a Concord woman, was cited for failure to use care in stopping/starting.
12:13 p.m. – Police responded to a reported motor vehicle accident in which a truck struck the rear of a Commonwealth Avenue business, causing minor structural damage.
9:50 p.m. – An officer radioed in to report he was out with a minor motor vehicle accident at the Concord Rotary.
11:18 p.m. – American Alarm reported an alarm activation on Bartkus Farm. Patrols checked the building with the homeowner, and all was in order.
