Police Log: Convenience Store Theft; Lost Dog
A sampling of incidents from the Concord Police report.
The following incidents were noted in reports written by the Concord Police Department and took place on April 25.
Man Charged with Stealing from Convenience Store
An employee of Concord Convenience called police at 6:57 p.m. to report a robbery that occurred approximately 20 minutes previously. The party stated that a man came into the store and took three packs of cigarettes, and that the incident was caught on camera.
The man was described as six feet wearing a black shirt and khaki pants, and carrying a plastic sword and a bag.
Police identified the suspect and searched the area of his residence on Independence Road. Family members at the home said that he was not present, but that he might be in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. They also told police that they would call if and when he returned.
Later in the day a resident at the home called police to say that the suspect was now there. Police responded to the residence and arrested 22-year-old William Jeffrey Megowen of Concord for shoplifting by asportation.
Tool Shed Vandilized
A caller from Minuteman Arc: Carter Apartments reported at 10:15 a.m. that the tool shed on the property had been vandalized. Nothing was missing from the shed, he said. Police went to the property and spoke with the reporting party, taking photos of the damage along the way. Police reported that the lock had been pulled from the doorframe, but that nothing within the shed appeared disturbed.
Stolen Computer Found
A Concord Carlisle High School reported at 4:04 p.m. that a computer reported stolen on April 14 had been returned.
Lost Dog
At 4:08 p.m. a party reported a loose dog in the area of 14 Mildred Circle. The dog was described as a German shepherd mix. The caller was unsure is the dog was wearing a collar.
