Police Log: Rash of Car Breaks Reported Around Concord
The following information was provided by the Concord Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Friday, Aug. 17
12:46 a.m. – A Leominster man was summonsed for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle following a motor vehicle stop in the area of Concord Turnpike and Main Street.
4:29 a.m. – A nursing home patient called 911 to report he was being threatened by a patient in a wheelchair. Officers spoke with an employee of Kindred Nursing and Rehabilitation, who explained the caller was a dementia patient and was not being threatened.
7:38 a.m. – A concord man called police to report that, while biking to work on Williams Road, he observed a black lab with a dead hen in its mouth. According to the incident report, he wanted to notify the department because he was concerned the hen’s owner may call to report a missing bird.
7:52 a.m. – A Bayberry Road resident reported noticing a backpack that was in his truck last night was now on the roadside. All of the bag’s contents were still there, but police took his laptop back to the station to process it and the resident requested extra patrols in the area.
8:01 a.m. – Police responded to a Plainfield Road resident’s report that he awoke around 3:30 a.m. to what he believed were the sounds of someone attempting to open his front door. The man said he turned on the lights but did not observe any person or vehicle in the area.
9:10 a.m. – A Laws Brook Road resident reported a motor vehicle break in which an amplifier and iPod were taken from his vehicle. Police reportedly found blood on the burglarized vehicle and contacted Emerson Hospital to see if anyone came in overnight to be treated for a laceration, but that lead turned up empty.
9:31 a.m. – A Hill Street resident reported her husband’s briefcase was stolen from her vehicle while it was parked at her home.
2:53 p.m. – A Cambridge man walked into the station to report a motor vehicle break at the Concord Armory on Everett Street in which his Army backpack was stolen.
6:16 p.m. – Police responded to a report of cars parked incorrectly near the boat launch at White’s Pond.
8:23 p.m. – A Concord woman reported walking around White Pond and finding three males in a tent. Police responded to the scene and found two males in the woods, whom they dispersed after advising them of the conservation land regulations.
10:21 p.m. – An Old Bedford Road resident reported hearing a loud banging in the area of Edmonds Road.
