Police Log: Soda Truck Smacks a Telephone Pole

The following information was provided by the Concord Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

 

Wednesday, Sept. 5

1:22 a.m. – A 911 caller reported she smelled there may be someone on her property on Hawthrone Lane. The woman believed this because she smelled cigarette smoke and an outside light had just turned on, the police report said.

8:14 a.m. – Police responded to a report of branches in the roadway on Barretts Mill Road, heading westbound just prior to Strawberry Hill Road.

12:26 p.m. – ADT notified police about a burglar alarm activation on Great Meadows Road, but then cancelled the dispatch while en route.

12:54 p.m. – A Concord woman reported losing a Prius key somewhere in town around 8 a.m.

1:48 p.m. – Police responded to a report that a Pepsi truck struck a light post near the 99 Restaurant, on Commonwealth Avenue in West Concord, sending the post into her vehicle and causing damage. As a result of the investigation, the driver of the truck was cited for failure to use care.

2:37 p.m. – A Monument Street resident reported a suspicious black vehicle had been parked in the area, taking pictures with a cell phone, over the past few weeks.

4:14 p.m. – A caller reported observing a woman in her 50s, on foot and screaming approximately five minutes earlier in the area of Baker Ave Extension. Police checked the area but were unable to locate the woman in question. 

5:44 p.m. – State Police relayed receiving several complaints of an erratic operator on Route 2, last seen on Commonwealth Avenue with the female driver taking on her cell phone.

6:48 p.m. – A Concord woman walked into the station to request assistance with her son, at their residence on Peter Spring Road.

9:55 p.m. – Police responded to a call complaining about construction noise coming from Emerson Hospital. The responding officer spoke with a foreman who had a crew running a jackhammer in the parking garage and agreed to shut it down for the night.

11:40 p.m. – State Police relayed a report of a possibly intoxicated motorist on Route 2 heading eastbound from the Rotary. An officer located the involved motor vehicle in the area of Partridge Lane, and reported the driver checked OK.
