Police Log: The One When Masked Mischief-Makers Messed with Traffic
The following information was provided by the Concord Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Friday, Oct. 5
4:47 a.m. – A Concord Greene resident reported a gasoline vehicle was running while off-loading gas at the Main Street Mobil, causing a disturbance and possibly a safety hazard.
6:47 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a small, white motor vehicle parked in the field on Lexington Road, by the Gun House. The occupant turned out to be a Boston man napping before a morning meeting in the area.
11 a.m. – A Concord man stopped by the station to turn in a license plant found in the area of Thoreau Street and Sudbury Road.
11:33 a.m. – A cellular 911 call came in reporting hearing yelling and screaming, possibly outside a vehicle in the area of Old Road to Nine Acre Corner and Emerson Hospital. The responding officers issued a summons to a Concord man for failure to stop for police, disorderly conduct and assault with a dangerous weapon.
2:23 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a tablet going missing from a closet at Kindred Nursing Home on Main Street.
2:35 p.m. – A disabled motor vehicle was reported in the area of Whittemore Street and Sudbury Road.
3:02 p.m. – A Westford Road resident reported finding a Golden Retriever on Lexington Road.
5:47 p.m. – A Bedford man called to complain about a Lexus SUV swearing in traffic from Old Bedford Road to Lincoln on Route 2A. Lincoln Police reportedly stopped the vehicle in their town and advised its driver of the complaint.
7:06 p.m. – A 911 call came in from a motorist reporting a collision with a deer on Monument Street. Police found the animal deceased by the side of the roadway.
7:15 p.m. – A passing motorist reported two juveniles wearing Halloween masks interfering with traffic on Walden Street. Police checked the area, but were unable to locate them.
7:37 p.m. – An employee at Concord Gas on Elm Street reported being verbally threatened by an older while man who was reportedly outraged after being unable to get a car wash.
8:26 p.m. – The same Concord Gas employee reported the man was back and again making verbal threats. Police stopped the man’s vehicle on Route 2, near the State Police barracks. A Maynard man, he received a summons for failure to stop for police, failure to notify the RMV of a name/address change and refusing to identify himself. He also got a No Trespass notice for Concord Gas.
