Police Log: Unlicensed Driver Flees from CPD and Speeding on Strawberry Hill
The following information was provided by the Concord Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Wednesday, Sept. 26
12:03 a.m. – An officer investigated a Leominster man’s report that his four tires were punctured while his vehicle was parked overnight in a garage at Newbury Court.
7:19 a.m. – A worker on Great Meadows Road reported a vehicle parked on private property there and nobody around. The officer later reported the owner arrived and had been taking photographs in the area.
8:41 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a landscaper at the Lowell Road boat launch filling his hydroseeder from the river. The officer made contact with the landscaper, who was out of Framingham, and sent him on his way.
9:25 a.m. – A 911 call came in from a child reporting a suspicious vehicle, possibly a car carrier or low truck, which pulled up in front of a Border Road residence and walked around to the back of the house. The caller’s mother called back to report that a landscaper was scheduled to stop by and look at the yard, and she believes that what the call was about.
11:51 a.m. – An officer radioed in for assistance in the area of Thoreau Street by the gas station, where a Concord resident with a possibly revoked license ran off into the woods after a motor vehicle stop. Police caught up with the runner on Academy Lane and Donald Arthur Beardsley, 51, of 28 Edgewood Road, Concord, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle on a suspended license and failure to stop for police.
12:41 p.m. – A caller from Concord Provisions reported a female in her 20s, wearing a pink shirt and white backpack and sunglasses, attempted to steal a bottle of alcohol form the store. An employee reportedly stopped the woman and retrieved the bottle outside of the store, and the woman kept walking down Middle Street. The woman, a Westport resident, was given a written trespass warning from the store manager.
3:13 p.m. – A Channing Road resident called to report an ongoing traffic complaint regarding speeding vehicles on Strawberry Hill Road. A directed patrol and speed board will be deployed in the area soon, the incident report says.
7:48 p.m. – A Davis Court resident called to report an apparently homeless person was pushing a cart toward the cul-de-sac on her street. Police checked the area, but could not locate anyone matching that description.
