Police Log: Walden Swimmer Walks into CPD Wearing Only His Trunks

Friday, Aug. 10
8:49 a.m. – A 911 caller reported a small area of bark mulch smoldering near an office building on Main Street in West Concord.
9:36 a.m. – Animal control was notified of a dog complaint regarding a large black dog reported in the Elsinore Street area.
10:31 a.m. – A Concord man reported his wallet’s been missing since Tuesday. It could have been lost in the area of the visitors center, he said.
11:38 a.m. – A Barretts Mill Road resident reported seeing a coyote in her yard on Aug. 6.
1:40 p.m. – An Old Bedford Road resident called to complain about a man walking down Old Bedford Road and asking directions to Burlington. According to the incident report, the woman was concerned because the man was coming from the court.
7:17 p.m. – A woman walked into the station to turn in an iPhone she found.
10:15 p.m. – A fire alarm activation sounded from Lexington Road.
11:21 a.m. – Lincoln Police called to relay a report of an erratic operator on Route 117 heading westbound from Waltham.
Saturday, Aug. 11
2:02 a.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of Main and Walden streets, Torin J. Zender, 39, of 120 Doyle Road, Holden, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, marked lanes violation and failure to stop/yield.
8:43 a.m. – A resident reported a credit card scam via email. The woman said she sent money to England after receiving an email saying another Concord woman was in trouble.
12:36 p.m. – A firefighter called in to report a two-car accident in the Route 2 rotary. The responding officer assisted with the paper exchange.
4:09 p.m. – A passerby reported seeing a pink girl’s bicycle seen resting against a fence at the Sanborn School for the past few days.
4:42 p.m. – A 911 caller reported a brown, Toyota Rav4 was continually circling the Concord Green property and that, when she spoke with the operator, the other woman “rudely stated she was lost.”
9:46 p.m. – A Chelmsford man walked into the station in swimming trunks and told police he was swimming on the far side of Walden Pond after hours and could not find his clothing or belongings once he got out of the water. Police gave the man a blanket and called his son, who lives on Assabet Avenue to come and pick him up. Walden staff was also contacted and confirmed no items had been placed in safe-keeping, but that they’d check tomorrow. The belongings did not turn up, the police report said.
10:21 p.m. – Emerson Hospital staff reported a patient at the emergency room was out of control. The patient was eventually restrained and sedated, the incident report said.
Sunday, Aug. 12
10:56 a.m. – A Concord woman reported the past larceny of her son’s bicycle from the area of Simon Willard and Musketaquid roads sometime during the evening of Aug. 3.
5:55 p.m. – A Peter Spring Road resident called to report a lost white terrier, which had been visiting the premises and went missing around 3 p.m.
