Video: Amanda Carr Performs at 51 Walden
Jazz Vocalist Speaks Out About Preserving the Big Band Genre
Well-known jazz vocalist, Amanda Carr, performed with the Silver Fox Jazz Quintet on Saturday night at the 51 Walden Performing Arts Center.
Although Carr grew up in the era of rock and pop, she developed a taste for jazz from her parents. She eventually formed the American Big Band Preservation Society which focuses on the conservation and promotion of big band music. During the performance, Carr took the opportunity to speak to Concord Patch about the importance of preserving this heritage.

The preservation society is a great idea. It would be such a great loss if these compositions end up in a landfill when descendants do not realize the treasure found in the closet of the "uncle who played in a band"
