There is more at stake than meets the eye: \;Everyone everywhere is affected by what happens in the rainforest.\nWith 11 musical numbers\, dancing\, and a cast of 60\, young and not so young\, this is a musical for all ages.\nChicken Man \;brings to light an internal community s truggle as residents weigh the option of sustaining the forest as their ancestors have for centuries versus working for a company offering lucra tive pay to scavenge these precious resources. \; The Great Central Lumber Company is clearing the forest to make grazing lands for the coun try's growing beef industry. \;The play opens shortly after the vill age priest and a local man have been assassinated for organizing against the company. Sophia\, the organizer's teenage daughter\, is charged by Chicken Man\, a local healer\, to find a way to keep the village togethe r while he travels to neighboring villages urging a boycott.\n \;\nW ritten and scored by First Parish\, Concord member Jane Blumberg\, direc ted by Francene Amari-Faulkner\, and featuring the work of artist Tally Forbes\, this play is wonderfully imagined.
