ConcordCAN!’s “Focus on Food” Friday Night Film Series presents the widely acclaimed film, “Thirst”.

Is water part of a shared “commons”, a human right for all people? Or is it a commodity to be bought, sold, and traded in a global marketplace?

“Thirst” takes “a piercing look at the global corporate drive to control and profit from our water-from bottles to tap,” according to its producer.

On the eve of Concord’s groundbreaking new ban on the sale of bottled water in single-serving plastic bottles, “Thirst” is of great relevance for Concord residents and businesses. Join the facilitated discussion following the film with local officials and water experts talking about how to keep Concord’s water system secure.

THIRST is presented by ConcordCAN in partnership with the Concord Free Public Library and the Concord Museum Celebration of Food and Farms.

Doors open at 7 pm. Donations are welcomed. For details, go to www.concordfood.ning.coml; View the trailer: http://www.bullfrogfilms.com/catalog/thirst.html.
