Raising Challenging Children Ages 3 thru 5

First Connections, Emerson Hospital, 111 Old Road to 9 Acre Cor, Concord, MA | Get Directions »
$75.00

Challenging children are often very bright and interested in many things. They may also be uncooperative, have a hard time participating in basic activities, have a difficult time transitioning from one activity to another, and may resist parents' effort to comfort and calm them during or following stressful episodes. Other characteristics of the challenging child may include a high activity level and difficulty controlling impulsive actions. If you are experiencing similar challenges with your child, participating in our 8-week workshop led by Patricia Marquis, LICSW, can help you develop ways to care for yourself while responding to the needs of your child. This program will look at parent-child temperaments, anticipating problems and making adaptations, helping children cope with frustration, and help you realize that there are other parents who understand the day-to-day challenges you are living with.   $75/person or couple. Scholarships available.
