People have been asking for thousands of years "Where does evil come from? or "Why is this happening to me?". Practioner and teacher of Christian Science healing, Kari Mashos says, "We all want to make sense of the world around us. We want to get our arms around the problem in hopes of solving the riddle. I've found that understanding more about God brings solutions." Mashes, a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship, will be giving a lecture titled, "The Riddle of Evil: How Christian Science Answers the Question", on Tuesday, May 1st at the First Church of Christ Scienist in Concord. The lecture will be held at 7:30pm in the church auditorium. The church is located at 60 Monument Square in Concord. parking and free childcare are available. "In this lecture I am going to explore the nature of evil, what it is and what it isn't and the nature of God, good - powerful and healing," says Mashos. "I've found that asking the right question brings healing and freedom from evil and it's effects. From my experience I've found that the right question is, "Where does good come from?" The ideas shared in Mashos' lecture are based on the teachings of Jesus as recorded in the Bible, and as explained in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. It is Mashos' growing faith and understanding of God, which brings healing to her own life. Her study of Christian Science helped her to raise a family safely and effectively. Mashos was an opera singer for several years and also founded h own opera company to highlight social issues before devoting herself full-time to the practice and teaching of Christian Science healing.
