Trinity Episcopal Church in Concord invites you to its Sunday morning Adult Forum, Trinity's adult education program, which meets weekly at 9 AM to hear speakers sharing their experiences on one of six themes — word, worship, wonder, world, witness, work — each being an important aspect connecting faith with everyday life.  Trinity's complete Forum schedule is available at http://trinityconcord.org/forum.shtml.

On Sunday, January 27, our Forum presentation focuses on the Word with Dr. John McDargh.  We will explore together how the story of the encounter between Jesus and the tax collector Zacchaeus provides clues to understanding how the good news of the Gospel may perhaps be addressed more to human shame than to human guilt.

Dr. John McDargh has taught the psychology of religious development on the theological faculty of Boston College since completing his doctorate in religion and psychology at Harvard University in 1979. In this talk he draws upon developmental psychology as well as Christian spirituality and biblical studies to formulate an understanding of the sources of intra-psychic, interpersonal and social violence and dysfunction. In addition to his interdisciplinary teaching at BC he is director of the new Center for Psychotherapy and Spirituality at the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology. John is involved in prison ministry with Christian lifers, does spiritual direction and supervision, and is an active member of the Episcopal Parish of St Paul in Newton Highlands.

Trinity's invited Forum speakers come from many walks of life and have addressed all manner of topics -- serious, mysterious, personal and world-focussed. Among our recent topics are pilgrimage, faith lost and found, histories and Biblical persons, death, dying and grieving, parenting, stewardship, education, and much more.

Childcare begins in Trinity's nursery at 9 AM; Trinity's buildings are fully accessible.  For further information on this or other programs at Trinity, please call our Parish Office, 978/369-3715, or visit us online at http://www.trinityconcord.org.

Trinity Episcopal Church, led by Rev. Tony Buquor, was founded in 1884. Sunday services are at 8am in the chapel (no music) and 10am in the main church (full choir and hymns).

Church school for children ages 4 to 14 is conducted at 10am, and a nursery is available for infants and very young children. A coffee hour follows both services.

Once during the year, the church offers a class for people interested in learning more about the Anglican Church and the background and meaning of its worship. The class lasts four weeks and begins after the 10am service.

Trinity offers a wide variety of other activities, including a book group, bike club and outreach programs. A schedule of events is available on its website.
