Vatican II Revisited: A Pastor's Perspective

62 Monument Sq, Concord, MA | Get Directions »
$5.00

Holy Family Parish in Concord, Massachusetts, will be hosting its pastor Reverend Austin Fleming on Wednesday, January 23 at Monument Hall in Concord Center. Father Fleming is part of a year long program of special adult Faith Formation sessions exploring the impact and meaning of the Second Vatican Council. In this session, Father Fleming will address the impact of Vatican II from a pastor’s perspective.

Austin Fleming was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Boston in 1973 and has served as a pastor in Concord for 17 years.  He is the author of three small books: Preparing for Liturgy; Prayerbook for Engaged Couples; and Parish Weddings.  For five years he’s been writing the blog, A Concord Pastor Comments. Re this talk, Father Fleming writes:

“Vatican II changed the church and the priesthood in many, many ways. I grew up in the time before the Council and was ordained following it. My perspective spans the before, the event and the after. I invite you to share memories and insights into what this great Council has meant in out time.”

The presentation will be held at Monument Hall, 62 Monument Square in Concord Center at 7:30 PM.  A donation of $5 – 10 is deeply appreciated.
