A multimedia presentation by award-winning illustrator, Wendell Minor, on his new children's book, If You Spent a Day with Thoreau at Walden Pond.

Follows Thoreau and a 21st-century child as they explore, row on the Pond, watch wildlife, and pick huckleberries. The boy learns to see the natural world through Thoreau's keen eyes. An appealing introduction to Thoreau for young children. Beautifully illustrated.

Autographed copies available for purchase after the presentation. Perfect holiday gift for that special child.

Presentation of special interest to artists, as Minor shows the processes he used to create his light-filled illustrations. Parents and teachers will enjoy Minor's thoughts on keeping children's imaginations alive through exposure to nature.

Families welcome; best for children in grades 1 through 4.

Window on Walden Author Series is an activity of The Thoreau Society, in cooperation with the MA Dept. of Conservation & Recreation and the Friends of Walden Pond.

Held at The Shop at Walden Pond, in the Tsongas Gallery.
