Downloading Library E-Books, Mass Innovation Night

What you need to see, do and know on Jan. 8 in Concord.

1. Downloading Library E-BooksAt 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, the Fowler Branch library will host a workshop on downloading library e-books to Kindles. Get the details here

2. Today in Public Meetings: According to the town website, public meetings posted for Jan. 8 include the Municipal Light Board at 7:30 a.m., the Tax Relief Committee at 8:30 a.m., the Central Middlesex Emergency Response Association Exec Board at 9 a.m., the Public Ceremonies & Celebrations Committee at 6 p.m., the Natural Resources Commission at 7 p.m., the Cemetery Committee at 7 p.m., the Public Works Commission at 7:15 p.m. and the West Concord Advisory Committee at 7:30 p.m. 

3. ICYMI: In case you missed it, earlier this week we shared some information about Christmas tree disposal, which is available this weekend at the landfill site. If you haven't yet, check it out. 

4. Mass Innovation Nights #MIN58Progress Software over in Bedford has been holding monthly Mass Innovation Nights, which 10 companies bring new products and the social media community turns out to spread the word via tweets, blogs, LinkedIn mentions and Facebook statuses. The next in the series will be held Wednesday, Jan. 8, with registration starting at 6 p.m. Get the details here. 

5. Sunny Day, Cloudy Night: Should be sunny and cold today, with a high of 21, according to the National Weather Service, which predicts a cloudy evening and low of 11.
