Dream Catchers, Golf Tournaments, Meetings and More

We've got five things you need to see, do and know on Aug. 14 in Concord.

1. Rotary Club Golf Tournament: The Rotary Club of Concord's annual Thomas R. Huckins Memorial Golf Tournament  is at 1 p.m. next Monday, Aug. 19 at Concord Country Club. To register contact Joe Saia, joe@westconcordliquors.com or Phyllis Maurer at pmaurer@hammondre.com. Costs $250 per person, and the proceeds benefit the CCHS Scholarship Fund. Get the details here

2. Today in Public Meetings: According to the town website, public meetings posted for today include the Municipal Light Board at 8 a.m., the Natural Resources Commission at 7 p.m. and the Public Works Commission at 7:15 p.m. 

3. ICYMI: In case you missed it, earlier this week we shared the story of the Concord Housing Authority getting HUD funds for building improvements. If you haven't already, you can check it out here

4. Moms Rock: Sun Catchers: At 10 a.m. this morning over at the Discovery Museums in Acton, they're holding a Discovery Classroom in which participants can use common and natural materials to create sun catchers inspired by the ways moms-- and grandmothers, sisters, aunts and others--rock. 

5. Sunny Day, Clear Night: Patchy fog early should lift to reveal a mostly sunny day with a high of 75, according to the National Weather Service, which predicts a clear evening and a low of 51.
