Jean Peal Carlhian Retrospective Opens at Emerson Umbrella

1. Gallery Opening: "Design and Discourse: The Life and Work of Jean Paul Carlhian" opens Thursday at the Emerson Umbrella Center for the Arts. A retrospective gallery show, the exhibit opening Oct. 24 is a retrospective gallery show on the work of the Carlhian, a French-born architect and longtime Concord resident remembered as "the architect who took Harvard vertical." 2. Today in Public Meetings: According to the town website, public meetings posted for Oct. 24 include  the Board of Assessors at 7 p.m., the Concord Carlisle At Play -- Community Meeting at 7 p.m., the Finance Committee at 7:30 p.m. and the Hanscom Area Towns Committee (HATS) at 7:30 p.m.
