Bequest from Longtime Concord Resident Helps Fund Patient Care Unit Renovations at Emerson Hospital

Mary Florio Giles (left) joins Emerson Hospital president and CEO Christine Schuster in front of the new nurse’s station on the Wheeler 5 patient floor. Giles’s cousin, John Florio, was a longtime Concord resident who lived a modest life and worked for many years as a custodian at Sentry Insurance Company. His recent bequest, in appreciation of the care he received at Emerson, helped fund the Wheeler 5 renovations. As a result, a special plaque has been installed in recognition of his generosity.
