Children at A Place To Grow Child Care in Concord Reach Out to Help Grassroots Wildlife Conservation

 Concord Police Officer Ron Holsinger and his wife Megan, parents at A Place To Grow, 40 Strawberry Hill in Concord, are looking over an array of delicious baked goods with their family and other young friends.  Children at the child care center, aged 2 to 5 years, recently helped to host the school’s annual two-day bake sale and fundraiser for a local non-profit organization.  This year, proceeds from the sale will be presented by the children to Grassroots Wildlife Conservation, based in Concord.

The social action project is part of A Place To Grow’s early childhood curriculum and “annual theme study” which focuses on the forest.

 As part of the school’s commitment to “Caring – Giving - Sharing,” toddlers, preschoolers and pre-kindergarteners shared the work of baking the foods, designing a banner, arranging the bake sale table, accepting dollars, handing out information on Grassroots Wildlife and thanking parents and visitors for their donations.   Toddlers had the special job of decorating paper bags for the baked items.
