Local Foundation Grants $5,000 to Elder Services

Concord, MA – December 19, 2013 – Cooperative Elder Services, Inc. (CESI) recently received a $5,000 grant from The Crawford Idema Family Foundation.  CESI will use the generous grant to purchase nutritious meals for low-income elders in the greater Concord area.  The staff and clients at the Concord CESI program are very grateful for continued support from the Crawford Idema Family Foundation.

A non-profit Adult Day Health organization serving elders since 1979, CESI operates centers in Concord, Groton, Burlington, Arlington and Milton.  CESI provides a welcoming day-time environment for local seniors, with nursing care, nutrition, socialization with peers, therapeutic activities, social services, caregiver support and round-trip transportation offered throughout the week.  The mission of CESI is to delay or prevent nursing home placement by promoting health and independence, and enhancing the quality of life for elders living in the community.  For more information, please call Eileen Lawson at 978-318-0046 or visit www.elderdayservices.com

The Crawford Idema Family Foundation was established in 1997 through the generous gift of Tom and Nancy Crawford, Jr.  The goal of the Foundation is to benefit society by strengthening institutions dedicated to helping individuals lead healthy and productive lives.
