Community Corner

Looking to perform some community service? Join the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls!

Concord Assembly is a youth group for girls ages 11 to 20 that is based in Concord, MA with members from many surrounding towns.  Our goal is to teach leadership, teamwork, and self-confidence through service to the community.   In Massachusetts, there are 26 communities with Rainbow assemblies, all willing to perform service for others.  Our state-wide service project for 2013-2014 is to support the Greater Boston Food Bank as well as local food pantries.

In the past year, our girls have supported other non-profit organizations by putting on a puppet show for the children at Why Me and Sherry’s House in Worcester, collecting soda can tabs to support the Shriners' Hospitals in Springfield and Boston, and raising money for Autism Speaks. They also collect needed items for the troops through the Masonic Team Freedom project.  This year the girls will be raising money to buy toys, and collecting toys, for Toys for Tots.  All of our service projects are planned and run by the girls.

Concord Assembly rewards its members for their service with fun activities such as movie nights, mini-golfing, and game nights.  We also have a camp for members.  You can read all about it at our local website:  www.concordrainbow.org, our state website: www.massiorg.net or at our international website: www.gorainbow.org
