Northwood Resident Throws Out Ceremonial First Pitch at NH Fisher Cats Game

Jakob Zylak was recently honored as a recipient of the Bellwether Community Champion Award, presented to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to their community. On July 27th, Zylak threw out the ceremonial first pitch at a New Hampshire Fisher Cats game and was celebrated during an on field pregame presentation.

Jakob, a senior at Coe-Brown Northwood Academy in Northwood, NH, has completed over 172 hours of community service during his four years of high school.  Zylak is involved in fundraising for several Make-A-Wish fundraising activities, recruiting for National MS Society Walks, and organizing food drives for the Manchester Animal Shelter.

In addition, Jakob volunteers his time with organizations teaching kids to play golf and tennis, as well as supporting his local parishes.
