OBITUARY - David E. Finan, Sr.

David E. Finan, Sr. age 70 of Littleton formerly of Concord and Groton passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, March 18th surrounded by his loving family.  He was the loving husband of Mary Lou (Silvio) Finan.

Born in Boston on April 15, 1943 he was the son of the late Gerald H. and Bertha (Cummings) Finan.

David graduated from Groton High School in 1961.  He later attended and graduated from Northeastern University earning a degree in Law Enforcement.   David married Mary Lou in 1967 and settled in Littleton.

David was a police officer for the Town of Lincoln for many years.  He also worked as a special officer for the towns of Littleton and Concord.

During his spare time and retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family especially vacations to Walt Disney World, Ogunquit and Cape Cod.  He was an avid Bruins, Red Sox and Patriots fan.  He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Maynard Elks and the Massachusetts Patrolman Association.

Along with is wife he is survived by his children, Dawn Tucker and husband Jeremy of Littleton, Terri Finan of Weare, NH, David Finan Jr. and wife Jennifer (Chadwick) of Gardner, Nathan Finan and wife Nicole (Christie) of Ayer and Christopher Finan and wife Cynthia (Eaton) of Auburn. Also survived by his grandchildren, Brittany Finan, Alexis Tucker, Makenzie Tucker, Zachary Tucker, Maiya Ortiz, Shannon Finan, Patrick Finan, Kalea Finan and Matthew Finan and a great-grandchild Adrian Higgins.  He was also the brother of Lois Cunningham and the late Gerald H. Finan Jr., and the late Howard Finan.

Family and friends gathered to honor and remember David’s life on Friday, March 21 from in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center, Concord Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery, Concord.
