OBITUARY - Frank Sobolewski

Frank Sobolewski, 92, of Concord, died Tuesday Feb. 11, 2014 in Concord. He was the husband of the late Emily (Dulak) Sobolewski who died in 2008.

Born in New Bedford on February 3, 1922 he was the son of the late Kamil and Katarzyna (Mularz) Sobolewski. He was a graduate of New Bedford High School.

Mr. Sobolewski served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II.

Following his military service, he received a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York.

He retired from Raytheon Corp. in Bedford after many years of employment as a radar engineer, previously working for R.C.A.

A Concord resident since 1968, he was a long time communicant and parishioner of the former Our Lady Help of Christians Parish and also a member of the Thoreau Swim Club.

Survivors include his three sons, Frank M. Sobolewski and John G. Sobolewski, both of Concord, and Mark A. Sobolewski of Maryland; his daughter Ann Marie Sobolewski and her husband Jon Wilhelmsen of Plympton; two grandsons, Christian and Brendan Wilhelmsen and several brothers and sisters-in-law. He was also the brother of the late Joseph, Julius and Stanley Sobolewski and Sophie Gonet.

Concord's town flag will fly at half-staff on Friday in recognition of Mr. Sobolewski's service in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Holy Family Parish, c/o Church office, 55 Church St., Concord, MA 01742.


Visitation:
Visitation will be held Friday February 14th from 8:30 to 10:30 am in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center.

Service:
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday February 14,2014 at 10:30am in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center.

Cemetery:
Interment will follow in the family burial plot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Bedford.
