Obituary: George Edward "Ed" Hagerty

George Edward Hagerty, Jr. Born May 2, 1939, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to George E. Hagerty and Margaret McGann. The family resided in Concord, Massachusetts, Chevy Chase, Maryland and Mamaroneck, NY., where Edward was the Captain of the Varsity basketball team, graduating class of 1957. He continued his basketball career at Tufts University playing on the Jumbo's Freshman and Varsity Team, served as Treasurer of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity and graduated in 1961 with a BA in economics. Edward was commissioned as 2nd Lt in the USAF, 31st Tactical Fighter Wing, Homestead Air Force Base, Florida serving two tours of duty in South East Asia. In 1961 he married Marion Richards who passed in 2006. Their children include Karen (Bruce) Curtis, WhiteHouse Station, N.J., Kevin (Beth) Hagerty of Aspen, CO., Kathleen (Marcus) Whittaut of Rowayton, Ct., and Kieth (Lauren) Hagerty, Eastchester, N.Y. Grandchildren: Dakota and Canyon Korniker, Hannah Curtis, Taylor Van Zyl, Julianne Wilson, Torsten Whittaut, Ava and Max Hagerty. Edward also leaves behind his fiancee and love of his life Len Dinter.

Arrangements under the care of Dee Funeral Home of Concord, Susan M. Dee and Charles W. Dee, Jr., Funeral Directors.

Visitation will be on on Saturday, December 11th from  11 to 12 noon, at the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord, MA 01742

Graveside Funeral Services will follow with military honors in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Bedford Street, Concord, Massachusetts. Sister Rose Marie Lipke, Pastoral Associate, Holy Family Parish will preside.
