OBITUARY- Marion H."Marnie" Corderman

Marion H. (Marnie) Corderman of Brunswick, ME, formerly of Concord, MA, died Friday, March 21, 2014, surrounded by her family.

She was born and raised in Greencastle, PA, the eldest of three children of George Warner and Marion Unger Harsh.  She earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Hood College, and a Master’s Degree in Interior Design from the University of Vermont.

Marnie lived in Concord for close to 20 years and always thought of New England as home.  Much of her time in Concord was spent at the Concord Museum, initially as a volunteer, and eventually as the Manager of the Concord Museum Gift Shop.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  She was very close to her granddaughters as they grew up, which was a source of great pride and pleasure for her. She was a joyful and integral part of their upbringing.  Marnie was devoted to her family and loved her home and gardens, fires in the fireplace, Labrador Retrievers, and the arts.

Marnie is survived by a daughter Susan Weddle, her husband Tom, and their daughters Becky, Hannah and Emily of Brunswick, ME; and a daughter Mary Ann Powell, and her husband Tony of Wellesley, MA. She also is survived by a sister Jane Mahler, and her husband David, of Newtown, PA; a sister-in-law Nancy Harsh of Richmond, VA, and many nieces, nephews, friends, and her devoted black Labrador Retriever Katie.  She was pre-deceased by her brother William Harsh of Surprise, AZ.

Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Trinity Episcopal Church, 81 Elm Street, Concord, Massachusetts, followed by burial in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.  Contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, or the Coastal Humane Society in Brunswick, ME.
